Meet The Teacher

Enna Davydenko

Teacher

Music has always been a huge part of my life. With parents who both loved to sing, a father who taught himself how to play the piano and guitar, and a grandfather who conducted his church choir for most of his life, this came naturally. When my parents bought our first upright at an estate sale when I was seven or so, I begged for lessons. Even though money was tight, my parents finally signed me up and the rest was history.

I took piano lessons from age 7 to 18, studying with a succession of fine private teachers including Carolina Riley and Russian pianists Marina Borsheva and Dina Khosh, from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. I then went on to study piano performance in college with Jensina Oliver and then Dr. Wayne Johnson. I graduated Alpha Kappa Sigma/Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Seattle Pacific University, emphasizing in Piano Performance.

While I was in college, I discovered my second great musical love - choir. Like my parents, I have always loved to sing, and studied private voice at SPU with Jacinta McLaghlan. But it was choral conducting that fascinated me, and I was privileged enough to study the art of conducting with Dr. Frederick Lokken and Dr. David Anderson. I have also been a member of the SCC Chamber Chorale, Shoreline Singers, and the award-winning, nationally recognized SPU Concert Choir, which I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with and conduct. I have also been active as one of the music directors at Awakening Church and City on a Hill Church, and currently am involved in the Westgate Chapel music ministry.

I have been teaching piano since I began my undergraduate work in 2009, and have since developed a curriculum that is geared toward accomplishing piano proficiency and overall musicianship, but that also fosters a love for music and the joy that it brings.
